Great news - at a meetings of the Downsland Trust on Friday 22nd April - HRPS have been awarded £2,000 towards the cost of materials to reconstruct the platform at Thruthall Halt.
The Trustees are all Councillors of Helston Town Council. They were all very supporting both of the project and of the Railway as a whole. They see HRPS as being a major asset to the community in terms of both an amenity for the benefit of the people of Helston and also as a significant tourist attraction that brings economic benefit to the town. Rather than have tourists rush past on the by-pass on their way to the beach where the only revenue is car parking fees - the Railway encourages people to visit the town.
