MONTHLY STANDING ORDER
Our new Development Fund will create a steady income stream for the HRPS company to facilitate the ongoing development of the railway, particularly for smaller projects and remedial work.
This is in addition to the funding for big projects provided by the HRPS charity, such as land acquisition or rolling stock, generated through membership subscriptions, donations, raffles and the 200 Club.
And is separate from the revenue generated from the HRPS company activities such as trips down the line, the shop and cafe. These revenues are used to cover the running costs – particularly fuel and repairs and maintenance.
Donations to the Development Fund will be used to build the railway’s infrastructure including rail, sidings, points, ballast, loop lines, signaling, plant and equipment. Typically, smaller items that are not covered by the HRPS charity.
In addition, the fund will be used to cover the ancillary costs arising from the acquisition of rolling stock, plant and equipment (particularly transport) as well as their refurbishment including the purchase of tools and materials.
